Nia Imani

Based in Missouri City, Texas, Nia is a cellist whose playing lives in the space between the notes: the pause, the breath, the quiet moment that says as much as the sound itself. She is thrilled to join the 713 Philharmonic Orchestra. Nia has performed across Texas and beyond, and she most recently toured with the Renaissance Orchestra on Rick Ross's Port of Miami 20th Anniversary tour, a landmark celebration of hip-hop history. She is also a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and board-certified music therapist, so she brings a deep understanding of how music moves people to every performance. A free spirit who has never believed in staying in one lane, she draws from artists as varied as Sade, Nancy Wilson, India.Arie, Sleep Token, and Snarky Puppy. Whatever the stage, her approach stays the same: feeling first, always.
